Dark photon stars: formation and role as dark matter substructure

چکیده
Any new vector boson with non-zero mass (a `dark photon' or `Proca boson') that is present during inflation automatically produced at this time from vacuum fluctuations and can comprise all a substantial fraction of the observed dark matter density, as shown by Graham, Mardon, Rajendran. We demonstrate, utilising both analytic numerical studies, such scenario implies an extremely rich substructure arising purely interplay gravitational interactions quantum effects. Due to remarkable parametric coincidence between size primordial density perturbations scale which pressure relevant, inevitably collapses into gravitationally bound solitons, are fully coherent objects. The central densities these photon star', solitons typically factor $10^6$ larger than local background they have characteristic masses $10^{-16} M_\odot (10^{-5}{\rm eV}/m)^{3/2}$, where $m$ vector. During post soliton production comparable energy initially stored in, subsequently radiated from, long-lived quasi-normal modes. Furthermore, surrounded `fuzzy' halos in wave-like properties also enhanced relative usual virialized expectations. Lower compact halos, $\sim 10^5$ greater form much scales. argue that, minimum, likely survive day without being tidally disrupted. This substructure, we anticipate arises other mechanisms, opens up wide range direct indirect detection possibilities, discuss companion paper.

Dark matter detectors as dark photon helioscopes.
Light new particles with masses below 10 keV, often considered as a plausible extension of the standard model, will be emitted from the solar interior and can be detected on Earth with a variety of experimental tools. Here, we analyze the new "dark" vector state V, a massive vector boson mixed with the photon via an angle κ, that in the limit of the small mass mV has its emission spectrum stron...
متن کاملDark Matter Densities during the Formation of the First Stars and in Dark Stars
The first stars in the universe form inside ∼ 106M⊙ dark matter (DM) haloes whose initial density profiles are laid down by gravitational collapse in hierarchical structure formation scenarios. During the formation of the first stars in the universe, the baryonic infall compresses the dark matter further. The resultant dark matter density is presented here, using an algorithm originally develop...

We review some general properties of assembling galactic dark matter (DM) halos which have a direct effect on the baryon dynamics. Specifically, we focus on the mutual dynamical feedback between baryons and DM which influence disk formation and evolution, by comparing models with and without baryons evolved from identical initial conditions. Baryons are found to be capable of modifying the DM d...

By comparing a collisionless cosmological N-body simulation (DM) to a smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulation (SPH) with the same initial conditions, we investigate the correspondence between the dark matter subhalos produced by collisionless dynamics and the galaxies produced by dissipative gas dynamics in a dark matter background. When galaxies in the SPH simulation fall into larger groups...

A decade ago cosmological simulations of increasingly higher resolution were used to demonstrate that virialized regions of Cold Dark Matter (CDM) halos are filled with a multitude of dense, gravitationally-bound clumps. These dark matter subhalos are central regions of halos that survived strong gravitational tidal forces and dynamical friction during the hierarchical sequence of merging and a...
